This Privacy Policy explains how Buyary, Inc. (“Buyary,” “we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with our websites, applications, and related services (the “Services”).

Information We Collect

Summary

Account info, usage data, bookmarks/co-shopping comments, quiz answers, and technical data.

  • Account Information:

    name, email, password, and profile image.

  • Browsing Behavior:

    pages viewed, searches, clicks/interactions with listings, scores, and sponsored placements.

  • Bookmarks & Co-Shopping:

    items you save and comments you leave in those features.

  • Shopping Preference Quiz Responses:

    answers about your preferences and shopping habits.

  • Technical Data:

    IP address, device and browser type, operating system, and cookies or similar technologies.

How We Use Information

Summary

To operate Buyary and deliver recommendations, scoring, editorial choices, API syndication, and sponsored relevance.

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Services.
  • Personalize content and recommendations.
  • Generate aggregated scoring based on Third-Party Content.
  • Enable API syndication of Buyary scores for partners.
  • Inform original editorial content, such as category explainers (using aggregated, non-identifiable interest data).
  • Measure and display relevant sponsored placements.
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

Sharing of Information

Summary

We share scores with retailers; we share product preferences only with your explicit permission.

  • Retailers & Partners:

    Buyary product scores and aggregated review data may be shared with retailers who display Buyary scores on their sites.

  • User Preferences (Opt-in Only):

    Your product preferences may be shared with retailers only if you have expressly opted in via your account settings.

  • Service Providers:

    We use vendors (hosting, analytics, security, support) under appropriate safeguards.

  • Affiliates/Links:

    Some outbound links are affiliate links; commissions do not affect our scoring or editorial independence.

  • Advertising Measurement (Consent-Based):

    If you arrive from an ad and have granted marketing consent, we forward limited conversion events (for example, that a sign-up happened, together with the ad click identifier) from our servers to the advertising platform that showed you the ad — currently Reddit. This measurement may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law; you can opt out at any time via the cookie preferences in the footer or a Global Privacy Control signal, and we do not forward these events without marketing consent.

  • Legal:

    We may disclose information to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights and safety.

  • No Sale:

    Buyary does not sell personal information.

Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, analyze usage, improve performance, and measure sponsored placements. Our measurement runs through a first-party pipeline: no third-party analytics scripts load in your browser, and with the matching consent, events are forwarded from our servers to our analytics providers (with IP addresses hashed using a salt that rotates daily) and, for ad measurement, to the advertising platform that referred you. You can review every cookie-setting service and change your choices at any time — see our Cookie Policy and the cookie preferences link in the footer. You may also control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not function properly without them.

Legal Bases (GDPR/UK GDPR)

For users in the EU/EEA/UK, we process personal data under one or more of the following legal bases: (i) your consent; (ii) contract performance (e.g., to provide the Services you request); (iii) legitimate interests (e.g., to improve and secure the Services and inform editorial coverage); and (iv) legal obligations.

Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information; restrict or object to certain processing; and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. California Privacy Rights

California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and limit use of sensitive personal information, subject to exceptions. We do not sell personal information. Consent-based advertising measurement (see Sharing of Information) may be considered “sharing” under the CPRA; you can opt out via the cookie preferences link in the footer.

Global Privacy Control

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. Where required by applicable law, a GPC signal from your browser is treated as an opt-out of the “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, without any further action needed from you.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security and business continuity. Retention periods vary by data type and purpose.

Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we process. However, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable.

Children

The Services are not directed to children under 16 (or the applicable minimum age of digital consent). We do not knowingly collect personal information from such children.

International Transfers

If we transfer personal data internationally (e.g., from the EU/EEA/UK to the US), we use appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, where required.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice before they take effect. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
