ECOVACS DEEBOT X9 PRO OMNI

PCMag’s Andrew Gebhart highlights the Ecovacs Deebot X9 Pro Omni as a feature-rich, capable robot vacuum and mop hybrid with notable innovations like the Blast vacuuming system designed to optimize airflow and improve suction performance. The X9 excels in suction power stress tests and benefits from a sophisticated base station that washes and dries the mop thoroughly, enhancing self-maintenance. However, Gebhart points out that the X9’s improvements over the slightly older and less expensive Deebot X8 Pro Omni are modest, with the X8 often matching or outperforming the X9 in mopping pressure, battery life, and cleaning speed. The review notes some usability frustrations, including sluggish physical controls, a less detailed and cumbersome mapping app, and occasional debris drops when crossing thresholds. Despite these minor drawbacks, the X9 delivers well-rounded cleaning performance but doesn’t justify its $200 premium over the X8, which remains PCMag’s Editors’ Choice for premium hybrid robot floor cleaners.

David Abraham, Savannah Sher, and John Peroramas from rtings.com highlight the Ecovacs DEEBOT X9 PRO OMNI as a mixed but intriguing flagship robot vacuum and mop combo. They praise its advanced all-in-one dock that automates emptying, refilling, and mop cleaning, alongside strong stain removal and reliable obstacle navigation on hard floors. The vacuum performs well for daily maintenance on open hard floors and offers improved pet hair pickup compared to its predecessor, making it a reasonable choice for pet owners. However, the review points out significant limitations: inconsistent carpet cleaning, especially along edges and on high-pile rugs, and a critical flaw in failing to reliably avoid pet waste, which restricts unattended use in pet households. AI features sometimes cause it to skip large messes, and pet hair tangles require frequent manual cleaning. Compared to competitors and even Ecovacs’ own X8 model, the X9’s overall performance is uneven, excelling mainly in stain removal and obstacle handling but falling short in thorough debris pickup and carpet care.

Digital Trends highlights the Ecovacs Deebot X9 Pro Omni as a standout robot vacuum, particularly praising its innovative OZMO Roller Mopping Technology, which delivers one of the best mopping performances available. The review emphasizes the robot’s advanced features, including a triple-lift system for brushes and mops, an effective BLAST vacuuming system that balances suction and airflow, and a highly autonomous self-cleaning dock that handles maintenance with minimal user intervention. The onboard AI further enhances cleaning efficiency by optimizing settings automatically. While the X9 Pro Omni impresses with its thorough hard floor cleaning and smart navigation, the review notes a few drawbacks: its relatively large size limits access under low furniture, and it lacks an automatic mop detachment feature found in some competitors. Despite its premium price and minor limitations, the reviewer confidently recommends the X9 Pro Omni as a top-tier choice for those prioritizing superior mopping and overall smart home integration.

Amanda Blum from Lifehacker highlights the Ecovacs Deebot X9 Pro Omni as a visually stunning and well-designed robot vacuum with a standout mop and an impressively user-friendly app. While the vacuum function performs adequately on flat floors and excels at mopping with its unique extending roller, the robot struggles with mapping accuracy, threshold navigation, and frequent clogging issues that require manual intervention. The combination of internal LiDAR and AI-assisted cameras results in inconsistent room mapping, limiting effective cleaning coverage. Despite its premium $1,599 price tag, the X9 Pro Omni delivers a mixed experience—its vacuuming capabilities fall short of expectations for the cost, though the mop and app offer genuine value. Blum suggests it may suit users prioritizing mopping in less cluttered spaces but recommends considering alternative models like the Saros 10R or 3i S10 Ultra for better overall vacuum performance.

Christian de Looper from BGR highlights the Ecovacs Deebot X9 Pro Omni as a highly capable and well-rounded robotic vacuum, particularly excelling in mopping performance thanks to its innovative roller mop system that applies strong pressure and extends to clean edges effectively. While the vacuuming power is slightly reduced compared to its predecessor, the new BLAST suction system still delivers very good cleaning results on various debris, outperforming most competitors. The design improvements, including a more refined docking station and a premium look, add to its appeal, though some functional changes like non-transparent water tanks may not suit all users. The app is generally user-friendly, with helpful smart home integration via Matter support, though initial mapping can be frustrating and requires manual correction. Despite its high price and occasional struggles with edge cleaning, the Deebot X9 Pro Omni stands out as arguably the best robotic vacuum currently available, offering a compelling balance of advanced features, cleaning performance, and smart home compatibility.

GearLab’s Genaveve Bradshaw and Sam Hill assess the ECOVACS DEEBOT X9 PRO OMNI as a premium, feature-rich robot vacuum that excels in advanced navigation and mopping performance, delivering thorough cleaning on most surfaces with impressive obstacle avoidance and customizable app controls. They highlight its sleek design, adaptive intelligence, and effective mopping capabilities—including automatic water heating and 50 water-level settings—as standout features that elevate the cleaning experience. However, the review tempers enthusiasm with notable criticisms: the vacuum struggles with pet hair removal, often leaving debris in corners, and its auto-empty dock is larger and noisier than competitors. While it performs well overall, these drawbacks, combined with a steep price tag, suggest it may not fully justify its premium positioning for all users. The review offers a balanced perspective, recommending the X9 Pro Omni for those prioritizing smart navigation and mopping but advising pet owners or noise-sensitive buyers to consider alternatives.

Kris Henges from How-To Geek highlights the Ecovacs Deebot X9 Pro Omni as a powerful, feature-rich robotic vacuum and mop that significantly eases the burden of daily cleaning, especially in a pet-friendly home. The reviewer appreciates the extensive customization options in the app, intelligent mapping, and adaptive cleaning routines that handle common obstacles and prioritize high-traffic areas. While the vacuum occasionally bumps into furniture and struggles with certain items like a motorized cat toy and a computer chair mat, these issues are minor and do not detract from its overall effectiveness. The sleek, well-designed dock and helpful app alerts add to the premium experience. Despite its hefty $1,600 price tag, the reviewer finds the X9 Pro Omni’s performance and convenience justify the investment for those who can afford it, recommending it enthusiastically as a smart, reliable cleaning companion that delivers on its promises.

ZDNET highlights the Ecovacs Deebot X9 Pro Omni as a standout robot vacuum and mop, especially excelling on carpets and rugs where many competitors struggle. The review expresses clear enthusiasm for its powerful 16,600Pa suction combined with boosted large airflow suction technology (BLAST), which significantly improves dust and pet hair removal on soft floors—achieving a remarkable 98% rice pickup in tests. The self-cleaning OZMO roller mop impresses with high pressure and adjustable moisture, delivering near-manual mopping results effortlessly. The larger EV-grade battery extends runtime substantially, enabling more efficient cleaning sessions. While the vacuum navigates most obstacles well, it may miss smaller items like paper or tissues. Positioned as a strong alternative to other flagship models like the Roborock Saros 10 and iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max, the X9 Pro Omni is recommended for users prioritizing superior carpet cleaning and an advanced mop roller system, making it a compelling choice for homes with extensive soft flooring.

Jonathan Feist from Android Authority highlights the ECOVACS Deebot X9 Pro Omni as a powerful and reliable flagship robot vacuum that impresses with its advanced self-cleaning features, AI-powered navigation, and strong suction performance. Priced at $1,599, it offers innovative functions like a heated mop dryer, anti-tangle brushes, and the BLAST suction mode, making it effective on both carpets and hard floors. Feist appreciates its consistent surface detection, safe navigation, and thoughtful communication via voice and app notifications, though he notes the bot can be overly chatty and somewhat clumsy around irregular furniture. While the Deebot X9 Pro Omni competes well with top-tier rivals, it falls slightly short of some competitors in edge cleaning and floor shine. The review balances enthusiasm for its cutting-edge features and cleaning power with measured critiques on price and minor usability quirks, ultimately presenting the X9 Pro Omni as a compelling but premium choice in the robot vacuum market.
